Props:
  • Yoga mat
  • Yoga bolster or 2 pillows
  • Yoga strap or a belt / scarf
  • Eye pillow or scarf
  • Yoga blocks, if you have them

If you plan to regularly practice restorative yoga I highly recommend purchasing a bolster, blocks & strap for your home practice. My favorite props are from Bean Yoga Products which are made in Chicago.

Practice Space Set-Up:
Plan to have enough space for a standard yoga mat to practice in
  • Mats are usually about 7 feet by 2 feet, plus some extra space on either side/end for arms and legs to move, reach and stretch
  • If you can, clear about 30 inches of wall space for wall work and poses such as, Legs up the Wall. If you don't have a lot of wall space, or resting with your legs extended upward gets uncomfortable for you, the alternative to legs up the wall is, my favorite, Legs on the Couch/Chair.
During class, I will be offering options and modifications for poses. You can choose to opt out of any pose that is not useful to you. If you have questions about postures or prop set up I will be available after class to answer questions, and also available via email.

Yoga Nidra Classes:
This meditation is done lying down. You can set up your yoga mat with pillows, blankets, etc. or rest on your bed or couch. Wednesday's class will begin with some light movement and stretching that will not require a yoga mat.
