Massage Bio
Natalie has always been intrigued with the power of healing touch. This love for bodywork eventually brought Natalie to The Soma Institute in Chicago. At Soma she studied Clinical Massage, Swedish Massage, Myofascial techniques & Lymphatic Drainage.
In 2011 Natalie traveled to Chiang Mai, Thailand to study Thai Massage at The Sunshine School and with Ohm Rinraya of Omsala. Natalie also has experience with Ayurvedic Abhyanga massage and Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage along with studying body-based approaches to supporting folks with trauma and PTSD. From all of these techniques, styles and modalities, Natalie creates personalized and unique sessions, that are both powerful and effective.
Natalie is fascinated with how massage can influence the nervous system and the profound impact relaxation can have on our bodies and in minimizing pain. Natalie believes that the most effective bodywork she can share is not aggressive or painful, but mindful, nourishing and restorative. Natalie's work is especially suited for folks who are looking to feel more grounded & connected in their body & folks dealing with the physical results of anxiety & stress. With Natalie's clinical background, she is well equipped to work with chronic pain & injuries.
For over a decade, Natalie has been honing her skills and deepening her knowledge. She has worked with a wide range of clients in a variety of settings from 5 star spas and hotels, to yoga studios. In each session she holds grounding and tranquil space for her client. Natalie believes this kind of support helps to facilitate comfort and relaxation, vital forces for initiating deep, lasting healing.
Techniques & Approaches Natalie brings into sessions as needed: Myofascial Release, Reiki, Clinical Massage, Swedish & Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Thai Massage inspired table techniques, Assisted Stretching, Lomilomi, Somatic Experiencing, Progressive Muscle Relaxation, Breath Work.
Natalie is a continuing education provider for The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) & offers training for licensed massage therapists & bodyworkers in Trauma-Sensitive Bodywork.
