Circle of Hope
Circle of Hope Classes are donation based & confidential classes that marry a more traditional supportive, group sharing experience with that of more “classical”, trauma informed yoga class and is specifically designed to be sensitive towards those individuals that have experienced trauma or have struggled with it's effects. These offerings are held at local yoga studios or similar settings, are taught by specially trained Yoga Teachers and are for anyone directly impacted by trauma as well as friends, family members or others that have been vicariously effected.
The suggested donation is $15 and we encourage all individuals to pay what they can afford be it less or more. A portion of the proceeds collected from these groups go to support local not-for-profit agencies providing trauma recovery & related services
Vinyasa / Mindful Flow / Sunrise Vinyasa :
These classes are all stylistically similar. Their titles are either reflective of the time that the class begins, such as Sunrise Vinyasa, or of the preferred verbiage of the studio that hosts them. These classes are offered in varying levels, and in some cases 'all levels'. I will always offer modifications and variations for the different needs and abilities in each class. In these classes please expect: time in meditation, visualization and breathe exercises, mindful movement, strength/flexibility building and opportunities to practice arm balances and inversions. There will always be time at the end of class for a full, restorative savasana.
Gentle Flow is an opportunity to move, stretch and breathe without breaking a sweat. Perfect for when you need to unwind and take a less vigorous approach to your practice. In these classes please expect: meditation, breath work and visualization, gentle flowing movement, longer holds in poses and opportunities to practice some restorative postures.
Restoration and healing are essential for any physical practice. In restorative practices the 'rest and digest' part of the nervous system is activated and the body and mind are given permission to relax and recover. Please expect: meditation/visualization, gentle movements, passive stretching and longer stays in certain postures supported with props.
Vin & Yin:
A truly special class! Half of the class will be made up of a vinyasa practice and the other half will be gentle and restorative. A real treat for those who want it all.
